Household Sound Effects

I was happily enjoying the silliness that is CSI: Miami when I heard an odd bell like noise. At first I thought it was some strange choice of symbolic sound effect. Then I thought it was someone moving lots of bottles or ringing hand bells in the street neither of which made any sense. The sound kept coming and going in that annoying way that when you try to find the source it stops way that happens some times. Being quite high pitched it was hard to locate too. Turned out to be the smoke alarm in my hall. I replaced the battery and tested it and it’s been fine since. I should have recorded it first though it was the oddest of noises.
