V5I: EcoSystem to Objects Python Script

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

A little python script that will place a cube at the same location as each instance in an EcoSystem. It gives each cube the same rotation as the instance. It also scales it by the same scale factor in each direction as the instance. There is an additional parameter to allow the scaling to be […]

Vue Python for Beginners Updated

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

I’ve spent the evening updating my Vue Python for Beginners tutorial. What started as a few minor tweaks turned into a major reorganisation but hopefully it was worth the effort.

New Pages

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Even with a two hour interuption for football I’ve added two new pages to the impworks site tonight: one for VueDynamics and a contact form on the contacts page. Despite my best efforts in the limited remaining time tonight I have yet to succeed in Bifurcating my virtual lava flow.

V5I: Bifurcated Lava Flow (Almost)

Monday, June 19th, 2006

An updated version of this article is now available on my website at Creating a Bifurcated Lava Flow in Vue Infinite. I’ve been trying to make a better Lava flow in Vue tonight. I wanted a less rectangular shape preferably with some bifurcation. Not quite there yet but getting better.

V5I: Lava Flow

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

An updated version of this article is now available on my website at Creating a Bifurcated Lava Flow in Vue Infinite. I’m working on a picture of a volcanic eruption. The explosion part is coming on well, the smoke not so well. Today though I wanted to get something that might be a lava flow […]

V5I: Progressive Drop Python Script

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

I wanted to create a heap of objects for a picture today but Vue’s drop puts all the selected objects on the same level. I could have selected and dropped each one by hand but that would have been laborious and I was feeling lazy so I created a Python script to do the hard […]

Friday, June 9th, 2006

A couple of people have said they would like to see a more colourful Roman Candle made using VueDynamics Animation: romancandle3b.avi (509Kbyte DivX)

Fire, Brimstone but No Smoke

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Been trying to build a volcanic eruption in Vue. I’ve managed to get a passable magma burst but smoke is proving somewhat harder to get a nice effect for. It’s rather annoying as in places the smoke looks really good but when it thins out a bit its obvious how its made and the whole […]

V5I: Vue Dynamics 0.3.1

Monday, June 5th, 2006

I’ve just put uploaded a minor update new version of the VueDynamics script, VueDynamics0_3_1.zip. Version 0.3.1 . It fixes a problem I found with particles not being sized properly when they are emitted or recycled. If select an object in your scene and then run the script you will get the a 150 frame roman […]

Non Specific Lethargy

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

I seem to be suffering from a bout of none specific lethargy. As soon as I get it out of my system I’ll post the bug fix for a couple of oddities I’ve found with object sizing with particles in VueDynamics.
