Pepakura Revisited

Monday, August 20th, 2007

When I first got Pepakura designer I played with it a bit but didn’t really get into using it. The last couple of days I’ve been playing with it again working up some simple building models for table top gaming. I’ll post the first buildings soon if I’m happy with them.

Printer Weirdness

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

I was trying to printing out something to take along for some friends to read (or some might say to inflict on some friends. My PC said the files had gone to the printer. The printer sat there. I checked the cables. I checked the paper feed. I checked the ink. Nothing. So I went […]

Bounty II Visits Liverpool

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

I had a less leisurely start to Saturday as I did a mad dash for my food shopping so I could get down to the Albert Dock in Liverpool to see the Bounty II, an oversized replica of the original HMAV Bounty which was making a one day stop to raise funds for the restoration […]

Combinations, Permutations and Speaker Stands

Friday, August 17th, 2007

I’ve got a GCSE in design; I’ve got A-levels in sciences and mathmatics; I’ve got a degree in engineering; I’ve got a kind of postgraduate qualification no ones ever heard of; so why does it take me two hours to assemble two speaker stands? Were the instructions not clear? Well once you’d put it together […]

The Cook, the Kriegsherr, his Femme Fatale & her Brother

Friday, August 17th, 2007

I’ve almost finished the follow up to the (to be published) Electron Jockey. One scene in the second act and then the third act to write. Four characters have become the focus of the story hence the new title I’m toying with of “The Cook, The Kriegsherr, His Femme Fatale & Her Brother” although I’m […]

Wordless Wednesday #19

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

A few weeks ago I posted a moth that flew into my kitchen to avoid a storm. Tonight I’ve got another one that I found there when I was cooking last night. These shots don’t really do it justice as I didn’t manage to get one of it with it’s wings open while it wasn’t […]

More CAD

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

So tonight I’ve been trying several more CAD packages trial versions to see if I can find one I like that won’t break the bank yet won’t drive me to a frenzy. The number of packages that call themselves CAD software when they should own up to being half baked projects by a guy in […]

Even with the Rants I’m only rated G…

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Yes it’s another pointless web thing but I’m wiped out for no readily apparent reason. I’ve just made two posts over on the Vue News blog. The rest of the evening was lost trying to find some CAD software that wasn’t going to break the bank but that did basic drawing in a way that […]

The Prestige

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Don’t ask me why but yesterday I washed all the less used pots, pans, storage containers, utensils and other kitchen stuff. I didn’t intend to but cleaning one pot I needed spiraled into a serious cleaning thing. After that I just wanted to relax and so I stuck on a DVD. I picked up The […]
