Giacometti at Tate Modern

Sunday, July 9th, 2017

I’d seen odd pieces of Giacometti before and seeing a body of work really helps get an idea about the artist.  I like this style of exhibition with the focus on one artist as I think its easier to get a real feel for them than when you see one or two pieces out of context of their other work.  The opening room with an array of head sculptures was striking

Being honest although I liked the exhibition I find his primitive art style of sculpture a bit off putting. That won’t stop me borrowing something of his aesthetic thanks to an idea that struck me while going round.
