Inland and to the south of South Pifl lies the local Poly’s main campus. Formerly a technical college which became a poly in the 1960s it is mostly based on this purpose built, landscaped, 1960s campus of slowly rotting concrete brutalism. Some departments are still based in buildings elsewhere in the town but the plan is to eventually have everything on campus. The Poly caters to 3,500 students.
It has six Faculties: Art and Design, Education, Health, Engineering & Technology, Science and Social Sciences & Law. These have twenty departments between them offering a wide variety of courses.
