No Good Plan Survives Sunday

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

After the usual Saturday yesterday of shopping and housework I had planned to split my time between wxPython in Action and writing. Well I did open the book at about eight PM and after getting wx running again and working through a few other bits and pieces it got shut. I do think that with […]

Spider-Man III

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Went to see Spider-Man III and Tsos for dinner yesterday with friends including Kim and The Ent. I’m not a big Spider-Man fan or for that mater super heroes. In the same way I prefer a gritty spy film to a high action one. I suspect this helped me because my expectation of Spider-Man III […]

Thursday Thirteen #10

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Thirteen things that set my brain off on a tangent yesterday Thieves steal 250,000 Flake bars: The police are looking for a gang of attractive, long haired women moving in slow motion. The gang were heard chanting about the quality of the chocolate at the scene. A senual, warm rain shower followed the gang as […]

70,000 Words and Counting

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

My short story turned novel past the 70,000 word mark earlier tonight. It’s really easy to write at the moment. Maybe thats because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and know that for the hero it really is an on coming train).

A little Apophysis and a Little Dragon

Monday, May 14th, 2007

While I was working on Little Dragon getting the last of the big pieces of the puzzle that reveals the threat my Noir Fairy Tale has been building to I was rendering a little visulisation of the threat. More of a concept than a fully worked image. Made using Apophysis and Vue 6 Infinite.

Face Shop Pro – Just Not Ready for the Big Time

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

I’ve never returned a product to Daz before but Face Shop Pro just didn’t live up to the product description for me. I’ve given it quite a lot of time. I’ve read the manual. Repeatedly. The morphs were, saddly, either too uneven to be worth using or had strange bits that stuck out. A couple […]

Meat Loaf and Raven

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Not the latest offering on Great British Kitchen but tonights entertainment at the MEN arena. A solid 30 minuteish set from support Marion Raven with a guitar accompaniment. Having heard a couple of tracks on her web site I’m tempted to pick up her album when it’s released on June 11th. Then the main course […]

Google Watch

Friday, May 11th, 2007

I’ve been using the new version of Google Analytics for a couple of day. Some really nice improvements have been made. A lot of it is simple stuff like dumping the pointless 3d effect from graphs to make them easier to read. The world map is now in many ways more useful as it shows […]

Thursday Thirteen #9

Thirteen Things about Mark Caldwell as though I was a character in a (badly written) detective story… He was tall, not too tall. Tall enough to have to duck through low doors. Tall enough to be asked to reach things down from high shelves. His gut had the the soft padding of years of pleasant […]
