HMS Illustrious docked in Liverpool
Went down for a quick look at HMS Illustrious docked in Liverpool today which turned into several hours of watching the helicopter display, buildings, canal, ships on the river and other stuff.

As a veteran from the previous Illustrious Carrier in 1948 I was thrilled to be invited to the ship Friday as one of the invited veterans. At the age of 80 years it could be my last trip aboard a ship and it brought back many memories. Unfortunately I didn,t meet any old shipmates, though there must be a few of them out there as I new many from the Liverpool area.
