This is a little thought game for two or more players. I made it up to help explain world building to friends who aren’t into RPGs or writing. It actually first came about because of a long car journey I was taking with my Dad back in the early 2000s.
Start with a simple premise… “Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green were documentaries made by a BBC film unit in the 1960s to document life in the three villages. Shortly afterwards Trumpton Newtown was developed.”
If you’re playing with one other player you just start a back and forth about what happened to different things. If it’s a bigger group get them to start talking about what Trumpton Newtown and act more as a moderator steering the discussion to new topics if things start to flag.

Who runs the heritage railway now?
How did his Lordship react when he discovered Mr Brackett was a life long member of the Communist Party of Great Britain?
Did the biscuit factory survive through the 1970s and 1980s recessions?
Do they still do the six o’clock dance when the whistle blows?
What happened to Colley’s Mill when Windy was injured in an industrial accident?
What happened to Pippin Fort as a result of Options for Change in 1990?
