The Electron Jockey
Thursday, July 26th, 2007Finished writing a short story I’ve been working on called “The Electron Jockey” tonight. I’m going to edit it tomorrow and sub it before the end of the month if I still like it tomorrow…
And in a Packed Sunday…
Sunday, July 8th, 2007Last day of my week off today. I’ve done a lot this past week although as is normally the case with a week off not as much as I wanted to. I started the day with a trip into the city centre with plans to get some photographs for Wordless Wednesdays and to do a […]
Coincidences
Tuesday, June 5th, 2007Really early on in writing my Noir Fairy Tail I decided to make the main character a former soldier. For a bit of colour in his background I decided on the unit he served with and a couple of operations he had been involved in. I’ve just finished reading Chandler’s The Long Goodbye (a good […]
No Good Plan Survives Sunday
Sunday, May 20th, 2007After the usual Saturday yesterday of shopping and housework I had planned to split my time between wxPython in Action and writing. Well I did open the book at about eight PM and after getting wx running again and working through a few other bits and pieces it got shut. I do think that with […]
Thursday Thirteen #10
Thursday, May 17th, 2007Thirteen things that set my brain off on a tangent yesterday Thieves steal 250,000 Flake bars: The police are looking for a gang of attractive, long haired women moving in slow motion. 70,000 Words and Counting
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007My short story turned novel past the 70,000 word mark earlier tonight. It’s really easy to write at the moment. Maybe thats because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and know that for the hero it really is an on coming train).
A little Apophysis and a Little Dragon
Monday, May 14th, 2007While I was working on Little Dragon getting the last of the big pieces of the puzzle that reveals the threat my Noir Fairy Tale has been building to I was rendering a little visulisation of the threat. More of a concept than a fully worked image. Made using Apophysis and Vue 6 Infinite.
Saturday on Saturday (Just)
Saturday, May 5th, 2007After a couple of days when I’ve been churning out words for my noir fairy tale with an enjoyable ease today things slowed down a bit. Still managed to get the 500 words down to push past the 60,000 point. Not bad for a story I didn’t expect to be more than 15,000. The pieces […]
Thursday Thirteen #5
Thursday, April 12th, 2007Thirteen Things from my life in the Last Seven Days by Mark Caldwell It was the last episode of Life on Mars this week. I think it made sense in the end. Sort of. And even though there isn’t going to be anymore it didn’t finish in a way that they couldn’t do any […]
Thursday Thirteen #4
Thursday, April 5th, 2007Thirteen Things Reference Books I most use when writing stories (with Amazon links for more information where I could find the book listed) Roget’s Thesaurus: I’ve yet to find a better thesaurus than the one that has evolved through Longman to Penguin. The Story of Western Architecture: More about the history of the development of […]
