Just been watching Life on Mars. Despite the way their trying to cram every possible social issue in the 8 episodes they’ve got before it’s all over it’s still some of the best TV around. It set me thinking how if in the 70s when I saw a computer that occupied a wall of a room with a tiny green on black screen that if I’d said 30 years later I’d have one on my desk at work and one at home it would just have been one of those silly ideas kids get. I don’t think I could have imagined that you’d be able to use them to communicate with people all over the world, to make friends in other countries, on other continents and to share ideas and interests with them. Yet, amazingly I can. Sometimes I have to just take a moment and think about it.

I'm still disappointed that I have to drive places, or take a bus or train and can't just step onto a transmat pad to beam myself to my destination.
